Kuto was born on the island of Tuvalu, in the midst of the South Pacific. It was a place where time seemed to stand still and life was filled with amusement. The days were spent swimming in the crystal clear waters, playing games on the beach and exploring the lush jungle that covered much of the island.

Kuto had always been fascinated by diamonds, so when he found one sparkling in the sand one day, he knew he had to have it. He took it back to his hut and placed it carefully on a shelf above his bed. Every day he would take it down and hold it up to catch the light, marveling at its beauty.

One night, Kuto’s diamond earring fell out of his ear while he was sleeping. When he woke up and saw that it was gone, he immediately began searching for it everywhere. He looked under his bed, in his closet and even outside in case someone had taken it while he slept but there was no sign of it anywhere. Finally, after hours of fruitless searching, Kuto resigned himself tothe fact that his precious diamond was gone forever
