Kuto’s life no. 978

Kuto had always been averse to living in Luxembourg. The small, landlocked country was simply too boring for him. He much preferred the excitement of life in the city. But when his head started balding, he knew he had to make a change.

He moved to Luxembourg and began wearing round silver sunglasses and growing a horseshoe mustache. He also dyed his hair carrot-color, which made him stand out even more. But Kuto didn’t mind; he was used to being different.

What Kuto didn’t know was that there were people following him. They were interested in what he was up to and why he had come to Luxembourg.

One day, as Kuto was walking down the street, he noticed someone following him. He quickened his pace but the person followed suit. Suddenly, Kuto felt something hard hit him on the back of the head and everything went black…

Kuto’s life was filled with disgust. He was always the outcast, the one who didn’t fit in. Even among his own kind, he was an outsider. And now he was in Luxembourg, a place where no one even knew his name.

He had been sent there on a mission, a simple recon mission that should have taken him a few days at most. But it had been weeks now and he still hadn’t found anything useful. The only thing he had managed to do was make himself look like a fool in front of his crewmates.

Now they were all pretending to be busy with their own tasks while shooting him looks of pity or contempt. It made him want to scream, but he held it in. He refused to give them the satisfaction of knowing how much they bothered him.

But eventually even Kuto couldn’t take it anymore and he snapped. “I’m done with this,” he said loudly, causing everyone to stop what they were doing and stare at him.” I quit.” Without another word, he turned and walked away from the group, not looking back once

Kuto never thought his life would be filled with such resentment. It all started when he was born in the small country of Luxembourg. His parents were poor and could barely afford to keep him fed, let alone clothed. When Kuto turned five, his father died unexpectedly and his mother was left to fend for herself and her young son. She did the best she could, but Kuto always felt like he was a burden to her.

When Kuto turned thirteen, his mother remarried a man from Kuwait who was much wealthier than her previous husband. At first, Kuto thought things might finally get better for him; however, it quickly became apparent that his stepfather only saw him as a nuisance. He constantly made fun of Kuto’s bowl haircut and light grey hair color, telling him that he looked like an old man. He also teased Kuto about his shaved face, which made the young boy even more self-conscious about his appearance.

One day, after yet another round of insults from his stepfather, Kuto had had enough. He packed up his few belongings and left home without looking back. He vowed never to return until he had made something of himself; proving to everyone that he wasn’t just some worthless orphan boy with no future..

As he got older, Kuto’s hair began to turn light grey. He started to grow a Super Mario mustache, and he began to wear square yellow sunglasses. He also started wearing a purple hoodie that his grandmother had given him. Kuto loved this hoodie; it made him feel warm and comfortable, even when the world around him seemed cold and hard.

One day, when Kuto was out walking near his grandparents’ house, he saw a group of kids playing together. They were laughing and having so much fun – something that Kuto couldn’t remember ever experiencing himself. Suddenly, one of the kids turned to look at him; their eyes met for just a moment before they quickly looked away again. In that momentary glance though, something inside of Kuto stirred awake; something that had been dormant for years . . .
