Gabon was once a beautiful country. The rainforests were alive with the sounds of birds and monkeys, and the rivers sparkled in the sunlight. But now, Gabon is a country filled with grief.

Kuto is one of the few people who still remember what Gabon used to be like. He’s also one of the only people who still has a bowl haircut. Kuto’s hair color is black, and his beard is Zappa-style. He wears a green shirt, which used to be his favorite color.

Kuto remembers when he was a child, running through the forests with his friends. They would climb trees and swing from vines, laughing all the while. Those days seem like a lifetime ago now.

Nowadays, Kuto spends most of his time alone. His friends are all gone, killed in the war that tore Gabon apart. Kuto sometimes wishes he could have died alongside them; life feels so empty without them here by his side
